Interior of Art's Barbershop with eagle mural and barber chairs

Our Story

Art's Barbershop has anchored 6th Avenue for nearly four decades. Nicole apprenticed here as a teenager, bought the shop from Art in 2019, and still cuts beside the same oak mirrors he hung in the 80s. Veterans swap stories next to first haircuts, and every guest is greeted by name, not a number.

The walls are lined with vintage carburetors, well-loved jerseys, and flags from local service members. Each piece has a story, and so do the people in the chairs. Barbering is more than a trade for us — it is a way to build trust, listen closely, and keep DeWitt looking sharp.

Nikki specializes in precision tapers, military regulation cuts, sensory-friendly appointments, beard sculpting, and straight-razor work. Whether we are working around stubborn cowlicks or making house calls for clients who cannot travel, the goal is the same: finish every service with intention, conversation, and confidence.

Community is the heartbeat of this barbershop. We host fundraisers, sharpen clippers for school cosmetology programs, and donate time at veteran centers. Tradition meets precision here, and everyone has a seat.
